Aripi is Romanian for wings. It was nearly ironic that the young blonde had been named so. After all, he dreamed of flying. It wasn't a long term dream, but rather one that had possessed him over the last three months, since he had returned home from the reality known as earth. They had been three long, hard months without his dear friend, and he was no more sure of what to do now than he had been then. All he could do was distract himself with dreams and fantasies, but even then, they didn't always sway his mind.

Today, he had abandoned his mind in an attempt to rid himself of melancholy thoughts. It had been three months and Caleb hadn't once tried to get into contact with him. There really was no point in keeping himself miserable. His friend wasn't gay, and Aripi was too fixated on his romantic feelings for Caleb to remain just friends. When he no longer felt his heart throb painfully at the thought of the dark hair and golden, wolfish eyes, maybe then he could try to regain the dear friendship they had had. Until then, he knew that it was wisest and it was safest to just find things more pressing to pay attention to.

That was why he had chosen to clean his room.

One would think that a famous young wizard would have very little trouble keeping his room organized. Even if he didn't have the patience or time to do it himself, someone else would come along behind him to do it or he could weave a spell that would do it for him. Unfortunately, he appalled the idea of someone messing with his things. They would surely get his notes out of order. He also couldn't trust his spells to do much the same. The line between bravery and stupidity was blurred when it came to testing new incantations on ones own things, especially if those things were irreplaceable. This meant that his things tended to pile up where ever he left them until he finally got around to cleaning them. Without someone to remind him, this mean that months even a year or two could pass between cleanings.

This time, it had only been five months. Just before the party, he had cleaned his room, putting everything where it should be. It had taken them two months to get back, and in the three months since they had gotten back, he hadn't touched a single thing.

Now, everything was finally where it should be. Unfortunately, it revealed something that shouldn't be there.

Sitting on the wooden floor of his now cleaned room, the teenage wizard looked at the necklace in his hand. It was Caleb's. He could remember the other complaining about it going missing. It held sentimental value that he could only imagine. Turning the dog tags over in his hands, he ran his thumb over the engraved symbols. Sighing, he told himself what he had to do. Standing up, he located a pen and paper. I found your necklace. Drop by if you want it. he wrote, his lettering and penmanship holding the arched shape all wizards seemed to use. Muttering a quick incantation, he pressed his fingers to the paper and twisted. With a soft pop, it disappeared. Though Aripi did have a cellphone, he preferred using magic. It was quicker, and he knew that it wouldn't fail to get through.

Another sigh escaped him as he went to locate his phone. He could send messages, but he knew that Caleb could only reply via phone. It was inconvenient for him, since he hadn't used his phone in all of those months. Being detached from it was so very, very easy. Now, as he picked up, waiting, he felt bitterly ashamed that he knew where it was, that he had checked it every day hoping to see a message. Huffing, he waited, wondering of Caleb would just tell him to send it via the mail or magic. After all, they weren't friends anymore.
